Here at SSOFB we're always focused on security, so, of course, we've been keeping an eye on the Let’s Encrypt project from the Linux Foundation.
As stated on the project's website, "Let’s Encrypt is a new Certificate Authority, It’s free, automated, and open." Previously SSL certificates ranged in cost from £50 to £150, depending on the option taken, however, now the Let’s Encrypt project has taken the cost down to zero, enabling SSL use on websites to be ubiquitous.
We've been trialing Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates for a few months on our servers, and we're delighted that it is now pretty much ready for mainstream roll-out.
